J. Paul Getty Trust

Louise Henry Bryson is chair emerita of the board of trustees for the J. Paul Getty Trust. She served on the board for twelve years, including four as chair. Until she retired from a 34-year career in media in 2008, she was president of distribution for Lifetime Television and executive vice president and general manager of Lifetime Movie Networks. Before that, she was senior vice president at Fox Networks, responsible for distribution of Fox Inc.’s new cable television channels. She also represented Fox-owned and -affiliated stations in retransmission negotiations with all cable and satellite companies in the United States. She began her career as a producer and writer for public television. She joined PPIC’s board of directors in 2014; she also serves on the board of directors for Huntington Memorial Hospital, the California Community Foundation, and seven American Funds. She is a trustee for Pomona College and for WETA, greater Washington DC’s public broadcasting service, as well as a lifetime trustee of Southern California Public Radio. She was board chair of KCET in Los Angeles, and a former member of the PBS National Board, which honored her with the 1998 Award for Excellence in Public Television Leadership. She was elected a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2010. She holds an MBA and MAT from Stanford University and BA from the University of Washington.
