- Most Californians favor the governor’s proposal to temporarily increase the state sales tax and raise income taxes on high earners.
- Almost all Californians consider the state’s budget situation a serious problem.
- With sharp cuts in state services possible in January, a strong majority are concerned about the effect of cuts on K-12 schools.
- Residents are more hopeful about their own finances. Over half say their financial situations will improve in the coming year.
