Parish Groups

We thank all who work tirelessly in these groups. New members are always welcome. If you are interested in establishing a new group or finding out more about joining a group, please contact the parish office or a member of the Parish Pastoral Council.

The Parish Pastoral Council is directly elected from the Parish community. Our Mission: To enable the people of our Parish to engage with one another, to share their gifts and to live out the values of Christ in everyday living.

Fr. Paddy Devitt is the President, Fr. Declan Gallagher is a member, Tony Holmes is Chairman, Catherine Ballance is Secretary, Elizabeth Holmes, Ruth Lambkin, Peter Woods, Jayne Courtney, Caroline Lundy, Michael Healy, John Simington, Seamus Storan, Sean McCool, Leo Blennerhassett and Tim Magennis make up the rest of the Council.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir sings at the 12 noon Mass on alternate Sundays, and practises on Tuesdays at 7.30 p.m. at the organ gallery. New members, male and female, are always welcome.

Altar Servers are an important part of Church services. New Servers are always welcome.

Altar Society

This group of volunteers performs the vital role of keeping the church clean and tidy. A roster of helpers is displayed in the Sacristy porch. The members meet on the first Friday of each month in the room opposite the Sacristy after the 10.00 a.m. Mass.

New members are always welcome. Just turn up on the first Friday.

Baptism Team

Helps parents prepare for the Baptism of their child. This team is led by Sr Stella who can be contacted through the Parish office.

Compline

Compline service takes place each week with the parishes of St. Patrick’s and the Assumption joining together in our church for this simple service each Wednesday at 6.30 pm. All are most welcome.

Dalkey Inter-Church Migrant Support Group

The Dalkey Inter-Church Migrant Support Group was formed following a series of talks in Lent 2017 on the subject of migration. Arrangements were made to support families in Direct Provision in Mosney and several trips were arranged to places of interest including Dublin Zoo. In 2020/21 support is being provided to young people to study at third level.

The group includes parishioners from the Parish of the Assumption, St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland and the Quaker Community in Monkstown. Funding

Dalkey Parish Outreach

Dalkey parish Outreach project was a Parish council initiative in 1999 to mark the millennium by supporting education and development in developing countries. The principal fundraising activity is a monthly coffee morning, held with the welcome support of the parish in Our Lady’s Hall. Until June ’09 all donations received were divided equally between Teresina, Brazil and Kitui Kenya. Since Sept 09 however, we have been sending the total proceeds of the coffee morning to Kitui mainly because of the

The family Mass group organises younger parishioners for choir, drama participation at 10.15 am mass on Sundays.

Floral Arranging

The group arranges the flowers on the church altars every week, and for special feasts and weddings. New recruits are always welcome to assist with the work. If you have some creative ability and could spare a couple of hours on some Friday mornings, please leave your name and contact number with the Parish Office or Sacristy.

Friends of Moyross

Following an appeal by Fr. Tony O’Riordan, S.J., Parish Priest of Moyross for funds to enable Corpus Christi N.S. to employ an additional teacher in the Autumn of 2014, it was decided by the PPC that our parish should respond as one Christian community to another. The suggestion for this response had come from parishioners in Dalkey who heard the appeal. Moyross is one of the most deprived areas in the country and the school is a beacon of hope

Funeral team

The main role of the Funeral team is to represent the parish faith community at each funeral and be available to assist the officiating priest and the bereaved family in whatever way possible.

Meals on Wheels

Call to No. 11, Kilbegnet Close, or phone (01) 285 78 63.

Dalkey Meals On Wheels provides hot lunches for up to 100 people in their own homes every day in the Dalkey/Glasthule/Glenageary area. The meals are cooked at the organisation’s base in Kilbegnet Close (beside the church) by a rota of volunteer cooks and delivered by volunteer drivers.

More volunteers are needed to maintain this essential and valued service, which is supported by the Health Service Executive. If you

The Parish Finance Committee is an advisory committee assisting the Parish in administering parish finances and properties. A broad overall objective is to ensure that adequate funding and facilities are available to meet parish pastoral needs.
